On Thursday, September 12 the conversational radio program River Valley Rhythms returns to the WESU radio airwaves at 4 p.m. The show is located at 88.1 fm or you may live-stream at wesufm.org.
This show marks the return to the airwaves of River Valley Rhythms after a 16 month hiatus. The show will focus on the Saturday, September 21st reading for the independent booksellers release of the latest book, be full which takes place at 3 p.m. at Wesleyan R.J. Julia Bookstore (see event details below). Expected guests for this one hour show are a representative from the bookstore and one or more of the featured readers/poets.

The latest poetry book by Susan Allison will be introduced on September 21, 2019 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore, Main Street, Middletown. A reading of Susan's poems will be presented. The poems will be selected and read by guest poets/friends including other poets laureate from around the State. Susan's books will be available for purchase.
There will be an open mic for poets following the reading, time permitting. Refreshments will be available.
The latest poetry book by Susan Allison will be introduced on June 11, 2019 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Hubbard Room of Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown. A reading of Susan's poems will be presented. The poems will be selected and read by guest poets/friends including other poets laureate from around the State.
The City of Middletown Commission on the Arts awarded nearly $2,500 for "the promotion and legacy of Middletown's 1st Poet Laureate, Susan Allison, through readings of her works in locations across New England and submissions to writing contests throughout North America, furthering Middletown's preeminent place in the arts." The award will be matched dollar for dollar bringing the total funding to nearly $5,000.

A buttonwood tree will be planted in honor of Susan Allison for her contributions to the City of Middletown, on the grounds of the City's Arboretum located on Long Lane.
